According to the Chinese Ministry of Foreign Affairs, the meeting will help increase bilateral relations, promote future high-level interaction, and strengthen joint responses to global challenges.
“China and Europe, as two major global forces, mega-markets, and great civilizations, share extensive common interests in the world’s peace, stability and development, and human progress,” Spokesperson Wang Wenbin added.
Wenbin said the relationship between the two sides has global influence and significance.
This year marks the 20th anniversary of the establishment of the China-EU Comprehensive Strategic Partnership.
Recently, China advocated for strengthening institutional dialogues with that bloc and finding synergies between the two sides’ development plans to boost cooperation.
