On its X platform, formerly Twitter, UNICEF stressed that it delivered medical supplies to health authorities in the Gaza Strip, which has been the target of Israel’s bombing since Saturday.
“Nothing justifies the killing, maiming or abduction of children, serious rights violation which UNICEF wholeheartedly condemns,” its executive Director, Catherine Russell, said in a press release two days ago.
However, reports indicate that serious rights violations against children are rampant, Russell added.
I am also concerned about the measures to block electricity and prevent food, fuel, and water from arriving in Gaza, which may endanger the lives of children,” she said.
Some 2,200 Israelis and Palestinians have been killed since Saturday, due to the outbreak of violence in the territory.
