The current military conflagration is not a conflict between the Gaza Strip and Israel, it is a conflict between international legality and the Zionist apartheid regime that threatens the inalienable right of the Palestinian people to their full freedom and sovereignty, notes a communiqué to which Prensa Latina had access.

Through the document, more than 30 representatives of civil associations rejected the arbitrary and illegal occupation of the Palestinian territories by Israel, in open violation of resolutions of the Security Council and other multilateral bodies.

In the text, they state that around six million Palestinians are refugees and cannot exercise their right to return, in addition to the deprivation of economic and social rights, as well as the illegal blockade of the Gaza Strip as collective punishment, crimes against humanity.

The organizations demanded that the Latin American and Caribbean countries members of the United Nations, such as the Security Council, play a historic leadership role to put an end to the Zionist occupation of the Palestinian territories and, consequently, to achieve a just and lasting peace in that Middle East region.
