In a communiqué through the social network X, the Latin American and Caribbean bloc demanded compliance with the UN resolutions for the establishment of the two States, in the pre-1967 borders and with East Jerusalem as the capital of the Palestinian State.
The Alliance deeply regretted the escalation of violence in the Gaza Strip which ‘threatens international peace’ and violates the norms of International Law and the principles and purposes of the United Nations Charter.
ALBA-TCP expressed ‘great concern’ about the danger that this escalation of violence represents for regional peace and stability if a negotiated solution is not found in the short term.
It also reiterated its call to the United Nations and the international community to seek a definitive solution to the conflict through dialogue and the rules of international law.
