That was demonstrated in an emotional meeting between Cuban President Miguel Diaz-Canel and over a hundred migrants at the headquarters of the Cuban Mission to the UN.
Our message is one of unity, patriotism and openness to all those who wish to contribute, the president assured in a long evening encounter.
Diaz-Canel emphasized, “we listen to everyone with respect, even if we have different types of disagreements.”
“Since our last meeting in this room, we have adopted several decisions and measures aimed at continuing to strengthen ties with Cubans residing abroad, despite the difficult economic conditions in the country and the increased U.S. government’s hostility,” the head of State stressed.
Diaz-Canel advanced, “next November 18 and 19, we will hold in Havana the 4th Conference: The Nation and Emigration, as part of the ongoing and irreversible strengthening of the links between Cuba and its nationals abroad.”
The president added that this is the result of the broad and honest dialogue initiated in November 1978, promoted and driven by the historic leader of the Cuban Revolution Fidel Castro.
