Antigua and Barbuda calls at UNGA to remove Cuba from SST list

United Nations, Sep 22 (Prensa Latina) Antigua and Barbuda’s Prime Minister Gaston Browne on Friday backed Cuba at the UN General Assembly (UNGA) by requesting the United States government to think over its stance towards Cuba and remove it from the States Sponsoring Terrorism (SST) list.

“They know it´d not true,” the PM said referring to Cuba’s inclusion in SST list, while calling for the end to the economic, financial and commercial U.S. blockade imposed on Cuba for over 60 years.

Browne deemed, “the tightened hostile and unjust blockade is obsolete, harms the Cuban people. It is cruel and is an issue that must be addressed to urgently.”

Likewise, the PM noted that developing countries are trapped in a crisis they did not create, overwhelming debts, and the increasing frequency of climate disasters, while rich States avoid meeting their commitments.
