“Visiting China in October as part of an important event to promote President Xi Jinping’s idea of the (Silk) Belt and Road is an honor,” Putin said in a meeting with Chinese Foreign Minister Wang Yi in the Russian city of St. Petersburg.
On the occasion Wang stressed that both Russia and China have a responsibility for the world situation in the current conditions, from an accelerated movement towards multipolarity.
“Tectonic shifts are being experienced in the face of a changing and turbulent international situation, the process of multipolarity in the world is developing at a swift pace and there is a trend towards anti-globalization,” he said.
On January, the volume of business between the two countries exceeded 120 billion dollars, and both governments hope to raise the figure to 200 billion dollars.
