YPFB President Armin Dorgathen assured that the hydrocarbon pump in the Boquerón Norte field has increased production from 1,800 to 2,200 barrels of oil per day, consolidating its position as the leading oil producer.
He noted that a second phase of development of the field began in 2022 with the drilling of the BQN-N8D, N12H, N13D, N24D, and N16H wells, the result of which he described as “a historic milestone of production of 1,800 barrels of oil per day.”
YPFB stated that this field has benefited from an investment of 104.02 million dollars, with 15.3 million dollars more planned for 2023.
The state-run company added that the increase in oil production in Bolivia has strategic importance, as it helps to reduce imports of diesel and gasoline in the context of the industrialization policy by reducing imports in energy security.
