The diplomat told Prensa Latina that the event was a sign of the state of relations between the two countries, especially in education and science, and the practical application of research.
An estimated of 14 deans of higher education centers, led by Deputy Higher Education Minister Reynaldo Velázquez, traveled from Cuba to participate in this meeting. They will exchange views with their Belarusian counterparts from some 30 universities, Pérez said.
“The main areas to be discussed, in addition to university relations and training professionals, are medicine, mining, agriculture, and the food industry, that is why the delegation’s members come from centers dedicated to training those professionals,” he added.
The ambassador noted that the meeting will be held at the State University of Informatics and Radioelectronics, a sector in which Belarus has a high level of development.
During the forum, the Cuban delegation will meet with the management of the Belarusian Ministry of Education and will visit the Academy of Sciences and the Science and Technology Park of the Belarusian National Technical University, among other places of interest, Pérez added.
