Implemented by the Alexander Pushkin State Institute of the Russian Language, the international volunteer program ‘Ambassadors of the Russian Language in the World’ is a new humanitarian volunteer format to promote the Russian language, Russian education and science.
The Republic of Cuba is a strategically important partner of the Pushkin Institute in matters of intercultural communication, stimulating research of young Russian scholars and maintaining interest in Russian language and culture.
With the organizational and informational support of the University of Havana, volunteers will teach students from the Faculty of Foreign Languages of the University of Havana, as well as schoolchildren from the University’s partner educational organizations for four weeks.
The expedition aims to support the dissemination of the Russian language in Cuba, to support the activities of Cuban organizations that study the Russian language and Russian-language subjects, and to develop cultural interaction (as an important component of Russian-Cuban interstate relations).
It is also intended to develop cooperation between Russia and Cuba in the field of culture in a spirit of parity, mutual trust, tolerance and mutually beneficial cooperation, including exchanges and cooperation for the enrichment of the two countries’ peoples.
