“We must decolonize the current world scientific order with systematic epistemological talks between modern sciences and those of native peoples, seeking solutions to multiple global crises,” Choquehuanca said in his opening at the G77+China Summit in Havana.

Choquehuanca insisted on the need to transcend what he called “the trap of the summit of the future, monopolized by the anthropocentric paradigm”.

He considered it necessary to call the Assembly of Mother Earth by focusing the vision of the future on cosmobiocentric values and principles and the rights of Pacha Mama.

“It is necessary to promote a global scientific and technological digital pact for life,” he described, “outside the capitalist and anthropocentric paradigm with a proposal for open science without privatization or commodification of science, technology and digital transformation.

In addition, he highly recommended building a new horizon for humanity, driven by the G77+China.

Choquehuanca, author of the ¨Geapolitics of Living Well¨ book, stressed that the right to well-being called by the countries of the South is not the development of Western civilization, which puts the planet at risk.

“We cannot continue walking along the Western capitalist path, which is to blame for the existence of poverty in the world,” he cleared up.

As an alternative, he recommended “building our own path from our roots, values and codes of the culture of life.”
