Indonesia calls for a new equitable international economic order

Havana, Sep 15 (Prensa Latina) Indonesia, through its Foreign Minister Retno Marsudi, on Friday claimed the right of the global South to development and called for a new truly fair and equitable international economic order.

Speaking at the G77+China Summit, held at the Havana International Conference Center (HICC), the Indonesian Foreign Minister regretted that developing countries are once again the hardest hit by crises such as food, energy and climate change.

We represent two-thirds of the population, but we continue to be relegated in the order of development priorities,” Minister Retno Marsudi stressed, “and it is imperative to change the basis of this unjust order.

In this regard, Marsudi said that the G77+China is the moral compass towards a new world architecture where multilateralism, cooperation, integration and solidarity are keys to the construction of a new truly egalitarian international economic order.
