During a meeting in Havana, the Cuban leader expressed his willingness to strengthen political talks at the highest level and expressed his deep interest in expanding economic and trade relations with Sri Lanka, according to the Cuban Foreign Ministry (MINREX)’s website.
Díaz-Canel thanked Sri Lanka for its traditional support at the UN General Assembly (UNGA) in support of calling for the end of the hostile and unjust blockade imposed by the United States on Cuba for over 60 years.
Ranil Wickremesinghe arrived Wednesday in Havana to attend the G77+China Summit that will be held from September 15-16 at the Havana International Conference Center (HICC). It will be attended by a great number of official delegation from over 100 countries.
