DPRK highlights Kim Jong Un’s visit to Russia

Pyongyang, Sep 14 (Prensa Latina) The visit to Russia of the General Secretary of the Workers' Party of Korea and Chairman of State Affairs, Kim Jong Un, was described as a milestone in the history of the relations between these countries.

The state news agency KCNA today summarized Kim’s activities in the DPRK, especially his meetings with President Vladimir Putin, described as “historic” events.

The traditional and eternal friendship between the DPRK and the Russian Federation is strengthened as appropriate for comrades-in-arms, thanks to the special relationship between the dignitaries of the two countries, KCNA stated.

The agency noted Putin’s cordial welcome to Kim at the Vostochny Cosmodrome in the Russian Far East, where the DPRK leader said that Pyongyang will always stand by Moscow “in the struggle against imperialism”.

It was also noted that the Russian leader accepted Kim Jong Il’s invitation to visit the DPRK on a date to be agreed upon, through official channels.

At a lunch in honor of Kim, Putin affirmed that both nations are striving to “strengthen ties of comradeship and good neighborhood for the sake of peace, stability and prosperity” in the region.

The DPRK leader, meanwhile, said Moscow faces “a lot of evil” and expressed confidence that Russia will successfully fulfill the special operation in Ukraine and at the same time will be able to continue building a strong state.
