One of the agency’s strategic lines is to diversify its presence in other regions, such as Latin America and the Caribbean.
Our dream is to connect the UAE with our partners globally; the nation is now a hub where some 200 nationalities from different regions from all over the world converge, Mohammed Jalal Al Rayssi, Director-General of the Emirates News Agency (WAM), said.
Al Rayssi added that the country hosts a large community of people from Latin America, so we try to communicate with our partners there continuously, looking for ways to connect, trying to inform from other regions to this area, and letting them know the latest we have here.
Some important events are coming up; WAM is interested in strengthening links with the international media to optimize the communication channels and disseminate as much information as possible.
In an interview with Prensa Latina, the executive pointed out that they would like to work with colleagues regarding the United Nations Climate Change Conference in 2023 or the Conference of the Parties to the United Nations Framework Convention on Climate Change, known as COP28, which will be held in Dubai in November 2023.
The Global Media Congress, to be held in this capital from November 14 to 16, will be another opportunity for exchange. It will be a pleasure and an honor for us to welcome many of our Latin American journalist friends and leaders from different media outlets, Al Rayssi concluded.
