Ricardo Cabrisas stressed the meeting was a sign of the willingness of both nations to continue strengthening bilateral cooperation in sciences, environment, higher education and economy sectors, as reported by the Cuban News Agency (ACN).
During the meeting, Cabrisas thanked donations sent from the Dominican Republic during the Covid-19 pandemic and after deadly fire at the Matanzas oil terminal.
Roberto Alvarez, on the other hand, praised the significance of the meeting to strengthen ties and cooperation between the two countries in other areas such as biotechnology, trade and education.
As part of his official visit to Cuba, Roberto Álvarez held official talks on Monday with Cuban President Miguel Díaz-Canel and with the interim Minister of Foreign Affairs, Josefina Vidal, who expressed her aspiration to raise the level of economic and trade relations.
