The assessination of a cattle rancher, along with his wife and son, in a municipality of the border province of Dajabon (northwest), made headlines on Tuesday.
The newspaper Listin Diario reported that a fifth person, 25, identified as Cristian Lopez, managed to survive after being shot in the backyard of his residence, in the La Barrera de Aminilla sector, also in Dajabon.
Police spokesman, Diego Pesqueira, declared that one of the three responsible for the quadruple crime is being held in a police precinct, where he will be investigated for the crime, and the other two subjects are wanted.
According to Pesqueira, the arrested man was carrying a shotgun owned by the murdered rancher, identified as Ramón Eugenio Medina, 60.
In another incident, a 20-year-old woman was found dead early Monday morning inside a water tank in the back of her house, in Los Guaricano sector, in the northern area of Santo Domingo.
Main suspect is her ex-husband, who was supposedly at the residence, but so far the authorities have not been able to locate the alleged perpetrator.
