Caracas, Sep 5 (Prensa Latina) The Bolivarian National Armed Forces (FANB) of Venezuela expelled from the Amazon since July some 10,200 illegal miners engaged in various criminal activities, a high-ranking official published on X.

FANB troops destroyed, among others, a structure used as a “base of operations” by organized groups for gold and drug trafficking and human trafficking in the southern state of Bolívar, Strategic Operational Commander Domingo Hernández Lárez wrote in his account on this digital media.

The FANB -the officer added- employed numerous actions since July 1 to displace the illegal groups from their operation sites, among them in the Miranda municipality of the northeastern state of Zulia, where members of a gang dedicated to financing terrorist acts were arrested.

The operations seized firearms, ammunition, grenades and other explosive materials such as booby trap and nails, as well as communications equipment, uniforms, solar panels and fuel. The actions of these dismantled criminal groups, included damage to the native populations, who were violently removed from their customs of preserving nature in their places of habitation, Commander Hernández Lárez explained.

The operation sites of these gangs expelled from their headquarters included the destruction of 57 structures used for illegal mining in Yapacana park, Amazonas state.
