Organized by the National Chamber of Tourism and the Costa Rican Tourism Institute (ICT), the event also aims to provide a space for analyses, dialogue and reflection on current issues in the sector, as well as new trends and challenges.
Digital transformation, use of artificial intelligence, competitiveness and profitability through the price of tourism services are added to the topics proposed in the program of the event, which will take place at the Convention Center in San José.
In addition, the use and application of artificial intelligence in tourism, economic perspectives for the sector in the current situation and the use of technology to improve accessibility and sustainability in tourism activities.
According to official ICT data, 2.11 million tourists came to Costa Rica in 2022, and before 2020, three million people from different parts of the world chose Costa Rica to enjoy their vacations.
During the first semester of 2023, 977,783 holidaymakers arrived from North America, including 792,944 from the United States, 148,973 Canadians and 35,866 Mexicans, while European tourism increased by 9,3% compared to the same period in 2022.
Costa Rica’s major tourist-sending markets during the first six months of the year, compared to the same period in 2022 were France 40,016; United Kingdom 37,006; Germany 39,369; Spain 21,293; Netherlands 14,280 and Switzerland 13,610.
