The mobilization, considered by analysts as one of the largest in local political history, was also propitious to reaffirm the re-foundation project in the face of threats of another coup d’état by opposition forces headed by the National, Patriotic Alliance and Salvador de Honduras parties.

From various departments of the country, the attendees, mostly dressed in red and black, arrived in Tegucigalpa and gathered in the vicinity of the presidential house, from where they headed, in a long walk, to the outskirts of the National Congress, waving flags and pronouncing slogans such as “never again coups d’état” and “Xiomara is not alone”.

During a speech minutes before the beginning of the peaceful patriotic march, the Honduran president addressed the people and denounced the conspiracy planned by the mafias and elites of organized crime and drug trafficking to overthrow her government.

The president said that these same forces of evil do not want neither dialogue nor consensus, as they intend to create anarchy and despise the freedom of the sovereign who elected her.
