The spokesman specified that Ukraine’s lost nearly 40 soldiers in the battle.
According to Savchuk, the enemy launched an assault integrating members of the 42nd, 63rd and 67th Mechanized Brigades of the Ukrainian Armed Forces, however their advance was thwarted as they were detected and attacked by Russian aviation and artillery.
The spokesman added that the group’s air defense shot down three drones and a HIMARS missile.
As part of the counter-battery fire, the Russian units uncovered and suppressed over 20 artillery positions and destroyed a 2S1 Gvozdika self-propelled howitzer of the Ukrainian Army.
