According to the Chinese Ministry of Foreign Affairs, this aid “seriously violates the one-China principle, the stipulations of the three China-US joint communiqués,” and “sends a serious wrong signal to the separatist forces” on the island.
“China is strongly dissatisfied and resolutely opposes it,” Foreign Ministry spokesman Wang Wenbin said.
The Foreign Ministry stressed that this new Washington aid seriously affects China’s sovereignty and security interests and jeopardizes peace and stability in the Taiwan Strait.
“Taiwan is a non-negotiable part of China, and the Taiwan question is purely China’s internal affair. We never allow any external force to interfere in any form,” Wang stressed.
The spokesman urged the United States to abide by the one-China principle, stop enhancing military ties with the Taiwan region, stop arming the island and creating tension in the Strait, and not to support secessionists to seek independence by force.
China-US relations have hit the worst moment in history due to the US economic war and its interference in domestic issues such as the Taiwan one.
