Russia destroys Ukrainian aviation weapons depot

Moscow, Aug 28 (Prensa Latina) The Russian Navy destroyed, with a group attack with high-precision and long-range weapons from the sea, an ammunition depot of the Ukrainian aviation, Ministry of Defense Spokesman Igor Konashenkov announced Monday.

The military spokesman noted in his regular press release that Russian troops repelled two attacks by Ukrainian Armed Forces’ assault groups near the settlements of Klescheyevka and Krasnogorovka in the Donetsk People’s Republic.

Ukrainian losses in that area totaled over 185 servicemen, three armored vehicles, two cars, a Polish-made Krab self-propelled artillery unit and a Grad combat vehicle.

In the front sector, south of Donetsk, Ukraine lost up to 100 servicemen, two armored combat vehicles, three vehicles, two D-20 guns and one Msta-B howitzer.

In addition, the Russian Armed Forces repelled two Ukrainian attacks in that region.

Russian units, in turn, repelled seven attacks by the 82nd Airborne Assault Brigade and the 46th Airmobile Brigade, near the settlements of Rabotino and Verbovoye, in the Zaporozhie region.

Ukrainian losses in the Zaporozhie front amounted to 160 servicemen, two armored fighting vehicles, four vehicles, two American-made M-777 artillery systems, one AS-90 Braveheart self-propelled artillery system and one British-made FH-70 gun.

In the Kupiansk front sector, Russian troops repelled two Ukrainian attacks near the towns of Sinkovka, in the Kharkov region, and Novosiolovskoye, in the Lugansk People’s Republic.

About 30 servicemen, two armored vehicles, three cars, as well as a D-20 howitzer were eliminated.
