Third patrimonial town of Cuba in search of a renewed image

Sancti Spíritus, Cuba, Aug 27 (Prensa Latina) Trinidad, Cuba's third largest town, Cultural Heritage of Humanity, designs a strategy to celebrate the 510th anniversary of its foundation with a more renewed image today, and works of social and economic.

Deivy Pérez, member of the Central Committee of the Communist Party of Cuba (PCC) and its first secretary in this province, in an analysis of the objectives to be achieved, said this city, with the participation of the people, must show all its historical and cultural riches.

In the meeting the day before, with local authorities and Alexis Lorente, governor of the province, the quality of the works planned in educational centers, health and commerce, cultural institutions, as well as the recovery of agricultural activity and attention to community problems.

The highest political leader of Sancti Spíritus emphasized following up on the suggestions recently made by the Prime Minister of Cuba, Manuel Marrero, where he urged to join efforts to achieve an integral development of society.

On that occasion, the member of the Political Bureau of the Communist Party insisted on the participation of all economic actors and the population to fulfill the plan proposed by the local government in greeting to the 510th anniversary of the town.

During the analysis, the actions to be carried out with a marked social benefit were presented: the nursing home, the Maternity Ward of the Tomás Carrera Hospital and the start of the Hemodialysis Ward, as well as improvements in the urban center from a collaborative international project.

It will also comply with the opening of children’s houses and various works in communities to improve housing and living conditions of the population.

Added to this are the cultural proposals and new tourist products, led by the Palmares Branch with the opening of a recreational complex and other projects aimed at promoting the city as one of the most important tourist poles in southern Cuba.

The program for the celebrations of the town includes the participation of all sectors, state and private, in the movement of Mipymes -micro, small and medium-sized companies- and people with facilities linked to tourism (lodges and hostels).

Offers from the tourism sector, the Office of the City Conservator and the organizations linked to the maintenance and development of the Valle de los Ingenios, of great historical and patrimonial value for the nation.

For his part, the governor of the province insisted that the city stand out, shine in every way, its image defines its attractions and shows a population in love and a participant in its development.

Finally, the first secretary of the PCC warned that the works should be carried out at an accelerated pace, but without compromising their quality, seeking alternatives to the limited resources.
