“We have achieved understanding with the Angolan side, willingness and a very affable treatment, of great affection in all the institutions where we have been”, the president said.
He highlighted the acceptance, by President João Lourenço, of an invitation to visit Cuba and participate in the Summit of the Group of 77 plus China, which will take place in Havana on September 15 and 16.
Díaz-Canel and his Angolan counterpart spoke about Lourenço’s collaboration to promote the participation of the countries of the group from Africa, the Caribbean and the Pacific, as well as the Southern African Development Community, both headed by Angola at present.
Díaz-Canel acknowledged that part of these achievements results from the work of the staff of the Cuban Embassy, not only in the preparation of this visit, but above all in their daily work.
I congratulate them for the work they have done, and for the way they defend the name of Cuba.
The Cuban president is leaving Angola on Tuesday afternoon for South Africa, where he will participate in the Brics Summit (made up of Brazil, Russia, India, China and South Africa) on behalf of the Group of 77 plus China.
