According to the senior official, who participated in a meeting on security problems in Russia’s eastern regions in the city of Magadan, Washington is expanding its war infrastructure near the borders of Russia and China, Sputnik reported.

Patrushev mentioned, in particular, that the United States created the Aukus military alliance (Australia, the United Kingdom and the United States), analyzed the possibility of supplying weapons to Taiwan and established a new quadrilateral union in the Pacific along with Japan, Australia, and the Philippines.

The official further noted that “the Pentagon, in its plans to deploy short- and medium-range missiles in Asia, reserves an important role for Japan, which creates additional threats to the security of Russia’s Far Eastern territories.”
