Franklin is currently in the Caribbean Sea, south of the neighboring Dominican Republic and is moving at 395 kilometers per hour, according to the DPC bulletin.

Forecasts indicate that the storm should affect southern Haiti on Tuesday, while its center will cross the national territory on Wednesday.

As a result, the southern region will receive heavy rains and winds tomorrow and rainfall may intensify on Wednesday, which could cause flooding and landslides in vulnerable areas, the agency said.

Civil Protection asked the population to remain alert and follow weather bulletins, in addition to adopting all pertinent measures for events of this type.
