“The War Against Corruption was announced on June 1st and is already giving clear results. The lines of investigation are many and complex, it would be counterproductive to give too much information at the beginning, for obvious reasons. This fight will not be over in a month, nor in a year, but it will be achieved, step by step”, the President wrote in his X account.
After the results in the fight against gangs, and “After having turned the most dangerous country in the world into the safest in the continent, I think we have earned the credentials to ask for those two things: patience and trust,” he said.
Although he did not refer to any of the cases that broke out in the country in the last few days, such as that of deputies of his own party, that of former president Alfredo Cristiani or others, the president emphasized that the results are being seen, and stated that the complex lines of investigations prevent him from revealing information on the matter.
As a result of the crusade launched by the government on June 1 against corruption, the day before former congressman Erick García, after being removed from office by the Legislative Assembly, was arrested by the National Civil Police (PNC).
García will be charged before the First Criminal Chamber of San Salvador, where he will face the judicial process for the crime of ideological falsehood.
