On Thursday, the publishing house of the FAR dedicated its most recent issue to the heroine of the struggles for national liberation and founder of the FMC, Vilma Espín, a tireless fighter for social justice and women’s emancipation.

The Verde Olivo magazine is a gift and a tribute to all the women of the country, an organization that is getting ready for its XI National Congress, said the director of the Editorial House, Reserve Colonel Roque Ernesto Garrigó.

In the 64-page volume, the publication compiles life stories that the Heroine of the Republic shared with many women during the development of the Revolution on the Caribbean island.

In addition, there are sections and fixed contents written by journalists and collaborators of the media, said one of its editors, Captain Dalia Giro.

The present issue joins other texts that reinforce Vilma’s legacy and her role in the distribution of supplies for Fidel Castro’s fighters, mainly in the Second Eastern Front of the conflict against Fulgencio Batista’s tyranny (1952-1958).

The member of the Political Bureau of the Communist Party of Cuba and secretary general of the FMC, Teresa Amarelle, thanked the FAR for the tribute and appreciated the systematicity of the tribute to Vilma on the Island.
