Over 100 representatives from Costa Rica, El Salvador, Guatemala, Nicaragua, Panama, Venezuela, Puerto Rico, Mexico and Honduras demanded the return of the territory illegally occupied by the US military base in Guantanamo against the will of the Cuban people and Government.
They also committed to promoting the unity and integration of solidarity movements, and rejected everything that divides them, in order to contribute to the construction of the Great Homeland and consolidate an anti-imperialist front in the region.
Participants interviewed by Prensa Latina said that the meeting was an opportunity to agree on actions and review what else they can do in Cuba’s defense.
The event was described as successful, and showed the combativeness of the delegates in favor of Cuba and against Washington’s unilateral measures.
