Fidel is a man of all times and is an example of courage, dignity and solidarity. Hence, he is still alive among Cubans and Syrians and all dignified people in the globe, participants said during the event.
The meeting served to recall the solid friendship between Fidel and former Syrian President Hafez al-Assad, and the historic visit by the leader of the Cuban Revolution to Syria in 2001.
Leaders Fidel Castro and Hafez Al-Assad laid the foundations for our relations, which were continued and strengthened with incumbent Presidents Miguel Diaz Canel and Bashar Al-Assad, they pointed out.
Participants in the event condemned the illegal and criminal blockade imposed by the United States on the two nations, and demanded the lifting of their countries from Washington’s unilateral State Sponsors of Terrorism list.
Thanks to Fidel and his legacy, Cuba will pursue to shine as a synonym of solidarity, humanism, socialism and the struggle for a better world, participants noted.
At the end of the event, a documentary on the life and work of the leader of the Cuban Revolution was screened.
