The drill, in which the ships of the Indian Navy, INS Visakhapatnam, and INS Trikand, participate, aims to enhance interoperability and synergy between both nations’ navies by promoting cross-training in tactics, techniques, and procedures, All India Radio News informed.
It also aims to foster stronger professional ties between the two navies.
Commanded by Rear Admiral Vineet McCarthy, Flag Officer Commanding Western Fleet, the drill demonstrates the two nations’ commitment to addressing maritime challenges together.
Earlier, McCarthy met with Brigadier Abdullah Faraj Al Mehairbi, Deputy Commander of UAE Naval Forces, and other senior officials to discuss joint efforts to combat piracy, smuggling, and human trafficking.
The maneuver is also a platform to explore possible joint humanitarian assistance and disaster relief operations in the future, the source said.
