The two officials also discussed the promotion of trade, economic and people-to-people partnership at a meeting on Thursday, as part of Rodriguez’s visit to India.

The Venezuelan vice president is heading her country’s delegation to the 9th India-Latin America and Caribbean (LAC) Economic Conclave, which is bringing together ministerial delegations from 17 countries and business people from both regions in New Delhi until Saturday.

On Friday, Rodriguez will participate in the session dedicated to Venezuela and its economic and commercial assets. She will be accompanied by Johann Alvarez, deputy minister for Foreign Trade and Investment Promotion; Hector Silva, deputy minister for Productive Economy; and Felix Plascencia, president of the International Center for Productive Investment.

The Venezuelan official will also meet Indian Foreign Minister Subrahmanyam Jaishankar.
