The news confirms an order by Defense Minister Mariusz Blaszczak to increase the military presence in the area following the alleged violation of the country’s airspace by two Belarussian helicopters, Sputnik informed.
The provocations show that a further increase in the military presence is necessary, Blaszczak stressed during a meeting with senior commanders.
Polish Deputy Prime Minister Jarosław Kaczyński stated in late June that the country was reinforcing the border due to the presence of contractors from Wagner private security company on Belarusian territory.
The United States, which leads NATO (North Atlantic Treaty Organization), has denied that Wagner’s contractors denied possible threats to the security of Poland or any other nation in the wartime bloc.
