On his Twitter account, the head of Cuban diplomacy pointed out that the temperature records and devastating forest fires affecting millions of people are evidence of the unprecedented pace and scale reached by climate change.

The Paris Agreement, initialed in 2015, seeks to limit global warming below 2.0 degrees Celsius, preferably to 1.5 degrees, compared to pre-industrial levels.

At several international forums, Cuba has warned that time is running out to make the necessary decisions and take actions to reverse climate change.

Cuban authorities have called at international forums to work in solidarity and in a sustained manner at a global level, since environmental challenges have no borders, although they must first be faced nationally, taking into account the circumstances and particularities of each country.
