According to the spokesman of the collective, Rey Luque, although air conditioning has been achieved in three operating rooms, the strike will not be lifted for at least three weeks, until other facilities of the health care center are ready.
He also pointed out that a new director, a specialist in family medicine, has just been appointed and has not yet met with him to learn about his work plans. During a visit to the hospital yesterday, the Minister of Health, Luis Francisco Sucre, pointed out there is no strike as such because work is being done in all areas and patients are not being left unattended.
He acknowledged there is still a lot to be done in the center, but for him the most important thing is that there is an extraordinary human resource.
Sucre admitted they began negotiations with the Ministry of Economy and Finance regarding the needs of the Nicolás A. Solano Hospital, which is requesting an additional US$ 3 million to conclude the year.
The official said they will set up a modular hospital where gyneco-obstetrics care will be provided, so that “this will solve the problem of space little by little”, in addition to the purchase of ambulances for 2024.
