The stash, hidden in household appliances, originated in the Netherlands, but had been shipped from Antwerp, Belgium, and was destined for the port of Valparaiso in central Chile, according to official reports.

During the so-called Operation Europe, police also managed to arrest five Colombian nationals and confiscated weapons, ammunition and seven vehicles.

The Undersecretary of the Interior, Manuel Monsalve, said on Monday evening this is the largest seizure of synthetic drugs made in South America and said that 521,000 doses were seized.

Meanwhile, the national director of Customs, Alejandra Arriaza, highlighted the work carried out during several months which culminated in the success of the operation.
