Putin, who met with his Senegalese counterpart, Macky Sall, also stated that both nations cooperate fruitfully on the United Nations platform, Sputnik reported this Saturday.
“In general, I want to emphasize that Russia has great respect for the principled position of Senegal and other African States to maintain stability and security globally, creating a fairer model of international relations,” the Russian president noted.
He mentioned the African initiative to resolve the situation in Ukraine. “We will continue the discussion we started in St. Petersburg in June with you and several other African leaders later on possible ways to solve the situation in Ukraine.”
The 2nd Russia-Africa Summit and the Russia-Africa Economic and Humanitarian Forum, aimed at contributing to developing mutually advantageous cooperation between Russia and the African continent, took place in St. Petersburg on July 27 and 28.
