India’s Environment, Forests and Climate Change Minister Bhupender Yadav on Friday stated that the G20 Meeting delegates, including 41 G20 leaders and guest nations, adopted the final statement on high-level principles for a sustainable and resilient blue/ocean economy.
During the meeting participants discussed aspects related to priority biodiversity areas, blue and circular economies, as well as water resource management, Yadav added.
There was a proactive engagement of participants in speeches on critical challenges to fihgt off climate and environmental issues, Yadav claimed.
Prior to the closing ceremony, Prime Minister Narendra Modi expressed confidence in the G20 countries to address climate and environmental challenges in a holistic manner.
Similarly, he praised national projects such as restoration of landscapes affected by wildfires and mining through the implementation of the Gandhinagar Roadmap and information platform and wildlife conservation through the International Big Cat Alliance program.
