Shoigu participated in the celebrations for the 70th anniversary of the victory in the Korean War, held a meeting with Kim Jong Un during his stay in the DPRK, and addressed with him theimportant issues of defense and security cooperation, the Ministry reported.

The Ministry of Defense described the meeting as very detailed and sincere, as Kim Jong Un and Shoigu addressed issues of mutual interest to both countries.

The North Korean leader explained to Shoigu Pyongyang’s position on the changing international security environment and the military and political situation on the Korean peninsula.

“There was also a sincere discussion on some issues that arise in the development of strategic and tactical collaboration and cooperation between the two countries in the field of defense and security,” the information from the Ministry of Defense specified.
