The Defense Attaché of the Chinese Embassy Brigadier General Guan Aiping said in his remarks that Damascus and Beijing are united by a friendship with solid and historical roots, and assured that despite changes in the international and regional situation, the two countries have always kept support for each other.

Aiping considered that the practical cooperation between the Chinese and Syrian armies witnessed continuous development, and exchanges in the military and security fields yielded fruitful outcomes.

Beijing will maintain its firm support for the Syrian army’s struggle to preserve national sovereignty, independence and territorial integrity, and in its efforts to fight off terrorism, Aiping stressed.

Defense Minister Lieutenant General Ali Mahmoud Abbas thanked the Chinese people, army and government for their support for Syria during the war and in international forums.
