According to official information, the meeting was organized by the Minister of the Presidency responsible for the State Security Agency, Khumbudzo Ntshavheni.
The Friends of the Brics meeting was attended by representatives of Belarus, Burundi, Cuba, Egypt, Kazakhstan, Saudi Arabia and the United Arab Emirates as a preparation for the upcoming 15th Summit of Leaders of the Brics nations (Brazil, Russia, China, India and South Africa) to be held here in August. The delegates agreed that cybersecurity remains a crucial element of cooperation and that the architecture supporting a more secure cybersecurity environment must be inclusive and accessible to all countries.
On the occasion, the senior official expressed her conviction that “the way we do things both through the Brics and the multilateral system of the United Nations must be strengthened as we face these challenges.” jrr/jav/lam/mv
