Cuba and Belarus to strengthen mutually advantageous cooperation

Havana, Jul 18 (Prensa Latina) Cuba and Belarus will strengthen mutually advantageous cooperation. The vice president of this country, Salvador Valdes, received the Belarusian Foreign Minister, Sergey Aleinik.

Valdes highlighted the high level of political dialogue between the two countries, which was strengthened in contexts such as the visit of Cuban President Miguel Diaz-Canel to Belarus in October 2019.

The occasion was also propitious to thank, once again, the historical position of Belarus in support of the Cuban Revolution in the fight against the US blockade, at the United Nations.

We note an expansion of economic and commercial cooperation, when Cuba and Belarus are suffering the pressures and sanctions of the West, the Belarusian Minister of Foreign Affairs considered.

We must promote the development of this collaboration so that our economies are more solid and can face the challenges, he said.

Aleinik pointed out there is progress in a series of projects in the industrial sphere, including the possibility of an agreement between the Belarusian tractor company MTZ and the Cuban authorities for the assembly of this type of equipment here.
