Cuba denounces coercive measures against developing countries at UN

United Nations, Jul 17 (Prensa Latina) Cuban Deputy Prime Minister Alejandro Gil on Monday denounced the developed countries' tendency to impose coercive measures on developing nations, at the United Nations.

Speaking on behalf of the Group of 77+China at the plenary session of the United Nations High-Level Political Forum on Sustainable Development, the Cuban official stressed the need for a special and differential treatment for the economically disadvantaged States.

Gil called for special support from the industrialized world for developing nations in taking advantage of the benefits of international trade.

The general debate of the first ministerial day of the forum is exchanging experiences, lessons learned, guidance on policies, transformative actions and initiatives for the Sustainable Development Goals (SDG) Summit according to UN sources.
