The Ministry of Finance made the statement in a press release issued on the occasion of the recently concluded visit of US Treasury Secretary Janet Yellen.
Although the talks between Yellen and her Chinese hosts were frank, pragmatic, in-depth, and constructive, the Ministry of Finance called Washington to adopt a rational attitude and work with Beijing to stabilize bilateral relations as soon as possible.
The Chinese leaders stressed the country’s plans to open up more to the world and accelerate the development of a market economy while adhering to international standards, respecting intellectual property, protecting the rights of foreign enterprises, and ensuring fair treatment.
Yellen visited China from Thursday to Sunday and met with Premier Li Qiang, Vice Premier He Lifeng, Finance Minister Liu Kun, and other Chinese authorities during her stay here.
Before leaving, the Treasury secretary expressed her hope to resume contact with the Government.
