The presidential advisor for investment, trade and international cooperation of the Government of Nicaragua, Laureano Ortega, held a meeting with the president of the Chinese Agency for International Development Cooperation, Lou Zhaouhui.
According to the statement, Zhaouhui conveyed greetings from President Xi Jinping and Vice President Han Zheng to the highest Nicaraguan authorities. He also thanked Nicaragua for its hospitality during his visit last April when they signed the projects on thermal energy and housing construction.
He also reported on the approval of two cooperation projects, the first for the supply of 500 Chinese-made buses, and the second for the donation of more than 2,500 metric tons of urea to strengthen national production goals.
Ortega thanked China for its solidarity, mutually beneficial and unconditional cooperation, which, he said, “is a sign of the strength of our bilateral relations.” He reiterated that the delegation’s visit to Beijing aims to strengthen the ties of brotherhood that unite both peoples, parties and governments.
The Minister of Finance and Public Credit, Iván Acosta, stressed that China has changed the way of carrying out international cooperation for development, by promoting solidarity and creating opportunities for developing countries. He assured that Nicaragua remains firm in its determination to achieve poverty reduction by prioritizing the stability of its economy, which generates confidence for Chinese investments.
