About 88 USACH professors, officials, students and graduates were tortured, murdered or missing under Augusto Pinochet’s military regime (1973-1990).
With photographs, testimonies and articles, the www.diariousach.cl/golpe website shows how the university community had been facing up such horrible years.
“We have been coping with the coup d’état’s trauma since we have been experiencing firsthand the crimes committed by Pinochet´s dictatorship,” said USACH’s Rector Rodrigo Vidal, while adding that Chile faced systematic violations of human rights, so to deny it is completely absurd.
