On this trip to Paraguay, the first by an Italian head of State to that country, he plans to meet his counterpart Mario Abdo Benítez at the Presidential Palace on July 7, after laying a wreath at the National Pantheon of Heroes in the morning.
At the end of their talks, both presidents will issue press releases and the Paraguayan will offer a breakfast in honor of Mattarella, after which they will visit the Italian School of Asuncion, together with a representation of the Dante Alighieri Society.
In the afternoon he will have an interview with the President-elect of the Republic, Santiago Peña, and later he will meet at the Legislative Palace with the heads of the Senate and the Chamber of Deputies.
Also on July 7, Mattarella will make a tour of the capital, where he will visit the El Cabildo Cultural Center and the Clay Museum.
On Saturday, July 8, he will travel to Ciudad del Este where, accompanied by the Paraguayan president, he will visit the Itaipu Hydroelectric Dam, concluding his trip to that country, from where he will return to Rome after his tour of South America, which began on July 3 in Santiago de Chile.
