The rejection of the recent endorsement by the US State Department for the delivery of weapons, ammunition, vehicles and other war equipment to Taiwan for $440.4 million was emphasized by the Defense Ministry in a statement.

The Chinese Ministry also stressed that the US is ignoring China’s core concerns, grossly interfering in China’s internal affairs and deliberately escalating tensions in the Taiwan Strait.

The Ministry remarked that the White House’s approval is equivalent to accelerating the transformation of the island into a boiler room and places the population there in an “abyss of disaster”.

It also condemned to failure any independence attempt in the southern territory and assured that the People’s Liberation Army is ready to maintain peace and stability in the area. jrr/jav/mem/ymr
