In February, Russia also said that it would cut crude oil production by half a million barrels a day in March, which would help restore market relations amid the introduction of the price cap mechanism for Russia’s oil and byproducts by some countries.
Subsequently, Moscow decided to extend the voluntary cut in oil production by that same amount until the end of December 2024.
The announced volume of voluntary reduction was reached in April, according to Novak.
